Tried And Tested Cures For Hyperhydrosis
We may have more problems in dealing with modern technology, but some problems, including those involving our physical bodies, have been there since the beginning of time. Without a doubt, one of the problems that even the first humans have encountered included excessive sweating. The difficulties with excessive sweating have been a serious one for humans throughout history, regardless of race, age and gender.
In modern times, the condition is called “hyperhydrosis”. Since the early ages of civilization, humans have been in search for a cure for hyperhydrosis.
Here are some of the ancient methods for curing the condition.
1. Herbs.
You might be surprised at how many of today`s prescription medicines include herbs. Yet and still, much of modern medicine has swerved from the concept of using natural ingredients from Mother Nature’s kitchen in treating ailments and diseases. The ancient world did it differently. Pharmacies were not open round the clock. There were no medications that required a translator to learn their pronunciations. In early history, the people from ancient times were dependent on their own skills and on the substances found in their environment to relieve them from their afflictions. Through trial and error, ancient people learned that certain plants and parts of those plants were successful in treating ailments. They were not aware of the chemical make-up of the plants which created the healing effect—they just knew that the medications worked !
Scientific research continues to prove that ancient people were on the right track, now in these modern times. One example would be how various clinical studies have verified that certain herbs are indeed effective as a cure for hyperhydrosis. There is basically no difference at all, just the fact that we know how about the chemical properties of those herbs, and we know that they`re effective in creating a balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems . Yet and still, the bottom line is: these herbs actually are effective!
2. Acupuncture. A number of us may be not too confident of someone sticking needles in our bodies, which don`t contain medicine in them. Yet this is what acupuncture is all about! It has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This approach to health ailments and diseases is based on the meridian system. Basically, it sees the body as one complete unit comprised of different meridians. It is different from the Western approach, which tries to pinpoint (pun intended) exactly where in the body an ailment or disease originates.
In contrast, TCM attempts to maintain an overall balance in the body, by ensuring that the meridians are working in unison. As a way of curing hyperhydrosis, sweat glands are visualized to be controlled, by sticking needles in different parts of the body. Indeed, acupuncture has a strong following, yet there remains to be solid evidence to be presented that the liver does more than cleanse our blood.
Throughout history, people have been using hearty essentially oils, as another popular cure for hyperhydrosis. One of these is Geranium oil, which can help to contract our blood vessels, tissues, and muscles. People rub this oil directly to their skin. It works in drying the skin, and as an added bonus provides a fresh and aromatic scent. Cypress oil is another effective oil in treating heavy sweating. The cypress plant is valued for its cooling effects and pleasant scent. Perspiration is managed and foot odor, as well.
Yes, ancient people also suffered from severe sweating problems, but their preferred cure forhyperhydrosis was natural and holistic. This approach is the same one that is promoted in the ebook Stop Sweating and Start Living and others like it.
